Christie Kerr Swings Her Way To Victory
Veteran American Christie Kerr drained a 30-foot birdie putt to take home the Sime Darby LPGA 2017 trophy and a handsome payday in what is her 20th career win over 20 years on Tour. Kerr, who celebrated her 40th birthday this month finshed the day with an even-par 71, for an overall score of 15-under 29 for the tournament, one shot ahead of Jacqui Concolino, Danielle Kang and Shanshan Feng who settled for tied second place.
"What a way to win. I always said I wanted to get a win in my 40's and I got it pretty quick." - Christie Kerr
The win makes Kerr the 27th player in LPGA history to notch 20 career victories and the first 40 year old to win since 2011 when Scottish golfer Catriona Matthew won the Lorena Ochoa Invitational at 42.
