Lions Roar in the Cradle of Cricket
100% Asian styled- 200% Sri Lankan - Born ,Bred, Cultured, Styled-Intellectually- Physically. Nothing alien. Except the mastery of languages from Sri Lanka Kumar Sangakkara -Mahatmaya.
Any Asian anywhere in the world, ought to be proud. As he is 100% Asian ,200% Sri Lankan. Meaning We all love him respect him. A fine youth as a model to follow. Taking all what he can get from -home- to reach an admirable level of intellect and physical skills
He said it in style. Give the right Man to do the job ,Allow him to the job, Trust him. If results are not within FIRE.
He said Sri Lanka has no communal problem, all races are brothers and sisters who live harmoniously.
Any Asian anywhere in the world, ought to be proud. Reminiscing of a series of catalytic events such as three decades of civil war and the 2004 tsunami, Sangakkara referred to cricket as "a game that brings a nation to a standstill," and pointed out how in moments of great strife, tragedy and violence, we had stood together as Lankans, calm and strong because "we are Sri Lankans".
Prior to 1995-96, players of the national cricket squad came from Colombo. However, the 1996 World Cup winning team consisted of players from a myriad of places and schools. Sangakkara gives the credit for this to our world cup winning skipper, Arjuna Ranatunga, who searched for talent and found legends like Sanath Jayasuriya and Muttiah Muralitharan.
Our 1996 World Cup victory over Australia, as Sangakkara said, united us as one, inspired us, and became "a beacon of hope". This was, arguably, to many children, a turning point in their lives. Almost any child will now say he aspires to be a national cricketer.
Sangakkara’s memorable words:
"My loyalty will be to the ordinary Sri Lankan fan, their 20 million hearts beating collectively as one to our island rhythm and filled with an undying and ever-loyal love for this our game.
"Fans of different races, castes, ethnicities and religions together celebrate their diversity by uniting for a common national cause. They are my foundation, they are my family. I will play my cricket for them. Their spirit is the true spirit of cricket. With me are all my people. I am Tamil, Sinhalese, Muslim and Burgher. I am a Buddhist, a Hindu, a follower of Islam and Christianity. I am today, and always, proudly Sri Lankan."
"The Spirit of Cricket (all sports)can and should remain a guiding force for good within society, providing entertain and fun, but also a shining example to all of how we all should approach our lives."
Comments of the speech –Sri Lanka have no communal problem. As seen ,Proven .It is the minority who is ruling the streets of business in the heart of Colombo, the Patronizes are The Majority.
What Sri Lanka Has is the easy paths to instigation by the Vested interest, often form out side.
Sri Lanka is 100% democratic. Hence easy this paths for instigation hence the vulnerability for bullies and the use deprived Sri Lankans (all races) as pawns for RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB NOT FOR THE WORMS WHO WORM THEMSELVES
